"The Onkyo TX-SR702 steps you up into THX Surround EX processing, enabling you to get the most out of your movie soundtracks. Inheriting the characteristics that made its predecessor, the TX-SR701, one of Onkyos best-built receivers, the TX-SR702 now adds the guarantee of build and sound excellence that can only come from THX certification. When it comes to surround sound formats, the Onkyo TX-SR702 6.1 channel receiver covers all the bases. Not only is it THX certified, but it will also decode Dolby Digital and DTS, DTS-ES, Dolby Digital EX and Dolby Pro Logic IIx. Add to that 125 watts x 7 (6 ohms), WRAT- Wide Range Amplifier Technology, component video switching and a slew of convenience features, and you have one heck of a home theater centerpiece that will withstand the test of time. DTS-ES and Dolby Digital EX are the latest digital surround formats available on select DVDs. Simply hook up a rear center speaker (the ""7th"" channel) and immerse yourself in realistically dynamic, 360-degree surround sound. Dolby Pro Logic IIx brings out the best in 2-channel stereo sources too, such as TV and CD. Because of the importance of the left and right channels in stereo and multichannel operation, the TX-SR702 features 192kHz/24-bit DACs on these channels for greater resolution. The Onkyo TX-SR702's six internal power amplifiers feature high-current, low-impedance discrete output devices, and the receiver is capable of a continuous power output of 125 watts per channel into a 6 ohm load. Onkyo's WRAT (Wide Range Amplifier Technology) gives the power stage a linear frequency response from 10 Hz to 100 kHz to handle the most demanding audio sources such as SACD and DVD-Audio. The on-screen display and dot-matrix fluorescent front panel display make setup and operation of the receiver easy and fast. The TX-SR702 is simply brimming with practical easy-to-use function
